How does it work?
- After submitting your application, we carry out a thorough screening, review and verification process.
- Working with your application and preferences we then propose a 'match'.
At this stage you will have the opportunity to review the proposed match and raise any concerns. - If the potential match is agreed upon by you, we issue a contract and information package to both the guest(s) and yourself.
- Communication between the two parties is established and further details of the stay are confirmed.
- RefugeeHost will maintain contact throughout the stay and follow up at the end.
It is important to note the following;
- All guests, go through a similar screening and verification process.
Copies of their refugee passports and/or residence permits will be kept by RefugeeHost. - You always have the option to meet the guest before inviting them into your home.
- Sometimes, a guest or family of guest may be refereed to RefugeeHost by a refugee support service or non-governmental organisation. In these cases, they may also maintain contact throughout the stay and follow up at the end.
We encourage you to express your concerns with us, and ask questions.
Understandably it is a big jump, to invite a stranger into your own home.
